I'm Maia Rachel, an artist, designer, and educator based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
In my art practice, I specialize in mixed media, paper collage, mono-printing, and hand-lettering. My color palette often includes jewel tones, earthy hues, and pops of cheerful brights. The themes I explore in my work are centered on optimism, motivation to pursue our dreams, and encouragement to express our creativity as human beings.
With a background in graphic design and classroom teaching, I enjoy combining these skills with my artistic eye, by translating my artwork into surface design, as well as teaching art workshops.
In my art practice, I utilize both analog and digital techniques, as well as hand-made textures, repeated patterns and shapes, and decorative embellishments. I am passionate about creating artwork that inspires others to dream big and be true to themselves.
